Archtop Guitars
The archtop guitar is the sound of early jazz and Western swing: a carved, violin-style top with f-holes that gives a punchy, articulate voice made to cut through a horn section. A century on, nothing else quite does what a good carved archtop does.
Our archtops are The Loar, hand-carved reproductions of the Golden Age L-5 that Lloyd Loar designed. From the all-solid LH-600 to the flagship AAA-grade LH-700 with case, they bring real vintage archtop tone within reach of working players.
The Loar LH-600-VS professional archtop acoustic guitar, hand-carved solid graduated spruce top over figured maple back and sides, for classic 1920s bark and projection.
The Loar LH-700-VS deluxe archtop guitar, hand-carved solid AAA spruce over AAA flamed maple, an accurate reproduction of the pre-war L-5 style, with hardshell case included.
