This is an exceptional 1926 Gibson TB1 conversion Banjo. This has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta.

Description

This is a 1926 PRE WAR Gibson TB1 conversion Banjo that sounds and plays wonderfully.

This has the original pre war Gibson shell with the original pre war Gibson Maple Resonator. The neck is a modern high quality maple 5 string neck with a rosewood fretboard. The fretboard has a Hearts and Flowers inlay pattern along with white binding on each side of the board. The diamond flange and tension hoop along with the hooks and nuts are original. This has a newer Presto tailpiece and newer armrest along with a high quality no hole raised head nickel plated tone ring. This is definitely a banger!!

This banjo is perfect for the person that wants the Pre War tone but wants to keep the price low. This also includes a very nice Recording King archtop hardshell case.

Condition

This banjo is in exceptional shape for a banjo that is nearly 100 years old!!! The resonator looks great! There are some very light scratches but only a few and we are talking light. The hardware has some funk which could be cleaned off but I leave Pre War parts alone. This causes them to really have the Pre War look. The neck is definitely in great shape with a clean fretboard and clean frets. There are spikes at the 7th and 9th frets. This is definitely in great shape and the case is super clean as well!

Set Up

This has also been set up at the Banjo Warehouse. This has a Remo frosted head which is set to 90. The bridge is set with correct intonation. The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings which are set wonderfully. This banjo plays great and is oozing with tone.
