This is a Pre War One Piece Flange Gibson TB1 conversion Banjo with a Sloan Ring and Bryant Neck.  This has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.

Description

This is a powerful example of a style 1 conversion Banjo.  This is all original other than the conversion neck and tone ring.  This is also in fantastic condition.

The shell is an original Pre War Gibson hard rock maple shell and the neck and resonator are Maple.  The fretboard is rosewood with a Seagull inlay.  The hardware is nickel and includes an original one piece flange.  This has the original Grover Patent Pending Presto tailpiece and original armrest as well.  This banjo is exceptional with lots of tone and volume and this is a fantastic player as well.  If you don’t know Sloan Tone Rings are regarded as maybe the best for Pre War Tone and this is a fantastic example of why.  This also includes a TKL Hardshell Case.

Condition

This banjo is in fantastic shape.  There is a bit of light surface cracking in the veneer on the back of the resonator.  This is definitely on the surface and is stable.  The finish looks good on the resonator and the neck is basically new.   The frets and fretboard are in great shape and this has spikes at frets 7,9 and 10.

The original hardware is in fantastic condition.  It does have some shine.  This banjo is definitely a good looking banjo also and is in really good condition.  The case is in good shape as well.

Set Up

This has been set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.  The banjo has a Huber frosted head which is made by Remo.  The head is set to 90.  The bridge is a Bales Bridge and the intonation is set.  This has new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and this is a superb player as well.  This banjo has the tone and is a thrill to pick.
