This is a gorgeous 1929 Gibson TB3 5 string conversion banjo.  This is a 2 piece flange banjo.  The banjo is set up and plays and sounds incredible.  Plus this includes a Superior Hardshell Case.

Description

This is an absolutely gorgeous TB3 5 string conversion banjo.  This is a 2 piece flange banjo.  The tension hoop has been changed to Prucha.  The tailpiece is a newer Presto.  The tone ring and neck are unknown but are definitely moth professional quality.  This has original finish and is a really good looking banjo.  Original one piece armrest.  The banjo is maple with a 3 ply hard rock maple shell.  Curly Maple neck with rosewood on the fretboard.  The fretboard has a Hearts and Flowers inlay pattern.  There is white binding on each side of the neck and resonator. There are spikes on the 7th and 9th frets.

Condition

This banjo is in stellar condition.  The finish looks incredible.  The hardware is all super clean as well.  There is some wear on the armrest but thats not very serious at all.  The neck is set up and plays great!!  The frets are in really good shape all the way down the board.  This is set up with a nice frosted banjo head which is set to 90 on a drum dial.  The banjo plays great with killer tone.  Plus this has proper intonation.  The Superior Case is also in fantastic condition.
