Description
1929 Gibson PB3 5 string Conversion Banjo. This is a 2 piece flange pb3 with a mahogany body with white binding on the resonator and nickel hardware. The hardware has aged and has some pitting. The banjo also has the original hyde head and has all original parts except for the neck. The neck was made by the Sullivan banjo company and is mahogany with a rosewood fretboard that has Hearts and Flowers inlaid. The neck also has white binding on each side. The frets show almost no wear in fact they are fat and clean all the way down. This also has no spikes so that may be something you put in yourself if you want them. We can install spikes if you ask.

Condition
This banjo is gorgeous. I just took it apart and cleaned it and the metal is glowing. There is minor age but it is truly gorgeous. The banjo has a new Huber Head. The wood is clean with original finish. The fretboard is clean as well. This is set up and sounds fantastic. This is an exceptional banjo for the price.
Sound and Playability
The mahogany gives this the classic bluegrass sound. The banjo has a crisp and loud tone. This is the style 3 Gibson sound and will cut through any jam. We have this set up with low action. There is no buzzing on the neck and it feels great to play. This is a great sounding and great playing banjo. Set up by the Pros at the Banjo Warehouse.
