Description

This is an early One Piece Flange TB1 5 string conversion with a Don Bryant Neck. The banjo has all original Pre War Gibson Parts including a punched original Pre War Presto tailpiece upgrade. The Presto was not originally on the banjo but it is a Pre War and would be an upgrade compared to the window tailpiece.

The shell is a 3 ply hard rock maple shell and this has the original Pre War Tone Hoop. The hardware is nickel and all original including a flat One Piece Flange which is original. The maple Don Bryant Neck has a rosewood fretboard with Seagulls. This banjo is a very classy and sharp banjo that is in fantastic shape. This also captures the true Pre War Tone. The banjo comes in a Pre Owned Deering Hardshell Case.

Condition

The hardware has some light pitting on the tension hoop but overall the hardware is remarkably clean. The original one piece flange is in great shape and is not pulling at all. The resonator is also in remarkable condition. It is amazing how clean the finish on this resonator is considering it is a nearly 100 year old resonator. The frets and fretboard are in great shape with spikes at frets 7 and 9. This is in great shape and the Deering Case is also clean in and out.

Set Up

The head is a Remo frosted head which is set to 90. The bridge is a Curtis Mcpeake lightning bolt bridge and this has new Huber strings. This banjo is truly a fine example of a Pre War style 1. This is clean and very well taken care of plus is set up to really bang. This is a gem.
