1930’s Gibson TB11 Tenor Banjo Brown Shade

This is a gorgeous and rare Pre War Gibson Kel Kroydon Tenor Banjo that is all original with a rare Brown Shade on the resonator. This has been fully inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse.

Description

This is an all original Gibson TB11 with the original case. This is made out of a material that many call “Mother of Toilet Seat” which has a really cool look. There is white binding on each side of the neck and resonator which has yellowed. There is a really cool design that goes up the fretboard and is also on the headstock and includes the Gibson logo.

All of the hardware is original. This has a one piece armrest and an original Grover Patent tailpiece. The hardware is nickel. This banjo happens to be exceptionally clean. This is a really really special find.

This has a brown shading around the edge of the resonator and headstock which is original and rare. This really helps set the banjo off and looks fantastic. On top of all of this the banjo has the original case. This is an exceptional find for a collector and would be a fantastic banjo to leave as a tenor or convert. This has the original hoop tone ring.

Condition

This banjo is clean. The metal almost looks new!!! This is a shiny banjo. The resonator and neck are also super clean. There are a couple of minor splits in the back of the resonator which are pictured. Some people may say they are scratches. The frets show almost no wear. The neck is in great shape and is also straight. This is clean all the way around. The original case shows some wear but it is in really good shape especially for the age and is structurally sound.

Set Up

This has a frosted Remo head which is clean and set to 90 on a drum dial. The bridge is a Grover bridge. This has new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings. The action feels great and this also has correct intonation. This is clean, all original, custom, rare and professionally set up. This is a nice find.
