1930’s Gibson TB11 5 string Banjo Yates Tone Ring

This is a Pre War TB11 conversion banjo.  This is all original other than the neck and tone ring.  This has been fully inspected and set up here at the Banjo Warehouse.

Description

This is a Kel Kroydon TB11 conversion banjo.  This has the famous mother of toilet seat resonator with an 11 design.  The neck maker is unknown but this is absolutely a professional neck.  The back of the neck is finished blue and the fretboard is rosewood.  The fretboard has a gorgeous inlay going up the board and white binding on each side.  The resonator also has white binding on each side.  There are spikes at the 7th-9th frets.

The hardware is nickel and all original.  This has a one piece armrest and a Grover Patent Presto Tailpiece.  This has a gold Yates tone ring which is an incredible ring.  This is gorgeous with top of the line parts and sounds incredible.

Condition

The banjo is in really good shape.  All of the finish looks great.  The banjo is definitely clean.  The hardware is clean and really glows.  This has a straight neck and a clean fretboard.  The frets are clean with only minor wear on only the first few frets.  The banjo is gorgeous and this has a clean deluxe archtop hardshell case.

Set Up

This has been set up here at the Banjo Warehouse.  This plays great and really sounds fantastic.  The banjo has proper intonation.  The head is set to 90 on a drum dial all the way around the head.  This has a clean no name frosted head.  The bridge is marked with a Y and has an ebony cap.
