This banjo is a great opportunity to get the Pre War Gibson sound at a great price. This is gorgeous and has been fully inspected and set up here at the Banjo Warehouse.

Description

This is a fantastic and very clean Kel Kroydon conversion banjo from the 1930’s. The banjo has the beautiful mother of toilet seat material which was commonly used in the 1930’s and is really attractive. All of the hardware was replaced and it really looks and sounds great. The neck maker and tone ring are definitely professional quality but we don’t know who made them. The banjo is set up and plays incredibly well. The neck has a gorgeous Wreath inlay pattern which really sets it off nicely. The neck is a speed neck which does help playing speed and I personally think is an upgrade. This banjo is a great example of a Pre War Kel Kroydon conversion and also includes a nice hardshell case.

Condition

The banjo is definitely in fantastic condition. In fact it almost looks new. The finish on the resonator is in great shape and clean. The hardware is new so that shines. The neck is also essentially perfect. The fretboard is super clean with almost no signs of wear. And the frets show almost no wear. There is a hint of wear on the first few frets but that is it. Just a hint. This is in great shape all the way around. We have set this banjo up here at The Banjo Warehouse and it plays and sounds incredible. The case is also in great shape.

Set Up

This has been set up here at the Banjo Warehouse. The banjo has comfortable action that produces a lot of tone and volume. This really sounds great. The banjo has proper intonation. The head is set to 90 on a drum dial all the way around the head. This has a clean American Banjo Company frosted head. The bridge is a Huber Bridge with an ebony cap. The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings.
