1930’s Gibson TB3 5 string conversion Banjo Black Refin

This is a 1930’s Gibson TB3 conversion Banjo with a Frank Neat Neck and Huber HR30 Tone Ring. This banjo has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta.

Description

This is a 1930’s conversion Banjo that is near all original and has a Frank Neat Neck with a Huber HR30 Tone Ring. The resonator has been finished black and this has one new coordinator rod but everything else is original. The neck also is finished black which makes this banjo look really good.

This has a 3 ply hard rock maple shell with a mahogany neck and resonator. Basically all of the hardware is original including the flange, tension hoop, armrest, tailpiece and all of the hooks and nuts plus the tuners on strings 1-4. The neck is also mahogany and the fretboard is ebony with a gorgeous wreath pattern. The pearl used for the inlay is especially beautiful with some vibrant colors in the pearl. This banjo has pre war and beauty all over it and all of the black makes this a very special banjo in appearance. This also includes a modern Gibson Hardshell Case.

Condition

This is in great shape. The hardware has some pitting but not much and it is Pre War hardware. The flange is flat. The finish on the neck and resonator overall look great but there is some wear in the finish on the back of the neck. The frets and fretboard are clean with spikes at frets 7 and 9. The banjo is definitely in great shape and has a modern Gibson Hardshell Case in great shape as well. I will mention the case is missing the combination lock but the rest of the case is in great shape.

Set Up

This has been set up at the Banjo Warehouse. The head is a Pre EPA Remo frosted head which is set to 90. The bridge is a new Huber bridge. This has new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and the banjo plays great. This is set up and ready to go.
