Description
This is an incredible one piece flange Pre War Gibson 5 string Banjo. This is absolutely clean and has an all original pot minus a new Presto Tailpiece, an upgraded tone ring and a Robin Smith neck. This is not only an exceptional banjo this comes with an incredible Alligator Skin Hardshell Case that someone added The Gibson to. This is a killer banjo.
This has the original Pre War Rim, original tension hoop, original one piece flange, and original armrest with original hooks and nuts. The neck is a Robin Smith neck and is stamped Heartland on the neck heel. The neck is fantastic which makes sense because Robin Smith was fantastic. This is a true reflection of 1930’s production with the wonderful Mother of Toilet Seat Pearloid.
The banjo is killer and will satisfy the Pre War Tone needs of the Bluegrass Banjo Player.
Condition and Set Up
This banjo is fantastic. The hardware looks great and the neck is in fantastic shape. The resonator has some scratching on the side which considering we are looking at a 90 year old banjo is not that bad. There is some sort of scratching inside the shell which is pictured. It appears someone was trying to write something in there but I cant make it out.
This has a new Remo frosted head, Snuffy Smith Bridge and new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings. This banjo is not only an incredible piece of Pre War Gibson History it is set up for power and playability. Check out all of our Gibson Banjos at Banjo Warehouse.
