1936 Gibson TB-2 5 string banjo conversion with an original raised head tone ring. This is an exceptionally rare banjo as only 6 were made on a special order in 1936-1937. This includes a very nice hardshell case and has been fully inspected and set up here at the Banjo Warehouse.
Gibson TB-2 5 string Conversion Banjo
This banjo was part of a special order of 6 tb-2 raised head banjos that was made in 1936-1937 and this still has that original raised head tone ring. This has a newer tension hoop and the neck is either a Chris Warner or Randy Wood 5 string neck. The banjo is in incredible condition and I want to note that the resonator was just refinished by Robin Smith. It looks incredible and in this case the resonator really needed a new coat of finish.
The fretboard has a flying eagle inlay and is a dark rosewood. The frets are in really good shape with only very light wear and not much of it and it is only on the first few frets. There are spikes at the 7th,9th and 10th frets. This is clean and set up, sounds great plays great and looks incredible and most of all this is RARE!!!
This 1936 Gibson TB-2 5 string Banjo also includes a very nice hardshell case. If you have any questions please ask, we are here to help. Thanks!!! CALL TODAY!!! 404-372-5482
