1947 Gibson J45 Acoustic Guitar

This is a gorgeous 1947 Gibson J45 Acoustic Guitar with an original case. This is a nice one. The guitar has been fully inspected and set up here at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta.

Description

This has mahogany sides and back and a spruce top. The neck is also mahogany with a rosewood fretboard. There is white binding on each side of the body which has yellowed. The guitar is all original other than the saddle and the nut and the tuning key buttons. The tuners are original but the buttons are plastic. Some of the bracing has been reglued as well. The bridge was also reglued. This has the original sunburst finish which looks fantastic. This is a killer example of a 1947 J45 that even has the original case.

Condition

The finish has a lot of checking but the finish itself is clean. There really isn’t a lot of actual playwear although there is some. I think the frets are new and they are in fantastic shape. The neck and fretboard are also clean generally. This is in fantastic shape and is extraordinary considering this is 70 years old. The case is worn but it is functional and still looks good. The guitar has been set up here at the shop.
