1947 Gibson J50 Acoustic Guitar

This is a well played 1947 Gibson J50 Acoustic Guitar with a hardshell case.  This has been fully inspected and set up here at the Banjo Warehouse.

Description

This has solid mahogany sides and back with a solid spruce top.  The neck is also solid mahogany and this has a rosewood fretboard.  The fretboard has dots.  There is black binding on each side of the neck and white binding on each side of the body.  This has a new saddle, nut and buttons on the tuners.  This also has a smaller original bridge which was soon changed to a larger bridge by Gibson.  This is a nice touch because of it’s similarity to the older design.  This has a tortoise shell pickguard and a w/b/w rosette.

This is a stellar guitar for tone and has all of the authentic vibe and mojo.  This also has scalloped bracing which is another very nice touch because that does improve the tone dramatically.  If you want to get the real deal vintage Gibson tone this guitar is for you!!!  This includes a hardshell case.

Condition

This is pretty worn but is structurally and functionally solid.  There is a lot of pick wear around the sound hole and a crack which has been professionally stabilized.  There are a lot of nicks, dings and other signs of picking and playwear all over the body.  The body also has a great deal of checking, some big and some small.  There is also some cracking on the side which is really hard to see at all but it is there.  This has been played so much that there are a lot of grooves in the fretboard.  This really has been loved and played hard.  The frets are in fantastic condition and it is probable that those are the one thing that is new on the guitar.  The case is in really good shape.

This has been set up to really produce a monster sound and this is a LOAD of fun to play.  This is a great way to get the true vintage Gibson sound at a price that a lot of people can afford.  We also have a lot of guitars for sale on top of more professional grade pre owned 5 string banjos than any store on earth.  Check us out!!!
