1955 Martin D18 Acoustic Guitar
This is a dreadnought with solid mahogany back and sides. The top is solid Sitka Spruce. The neck is mahogany with a rosewood fretboard. There are dots inlaid up the fretboard. All of the parts are original.
Condition
There is a good deal of pick wear on the body. There are scratches and dings especially on the back and by the pickguard. This is definitely a well played guitar. There is no damage and no repairs. Overall this is in good shape especially considering it’s age. The finish itself is original. There are a lot of microscopic finish cracks which proves that this is the original finish. There was a strap button installed on one side of the neck which was later removed. The hole was filled in and there is a picture available. The neck is straight and this plays great. This is a great looking and playing vintage Martin Guitar. The case is off of a 1970’s Martin.
Sound and Playability
This guitar has the classic Martin tone. The mahogany gives this a crisp and clear tone and the guitar is LOUD! The Solid Sitka Spruce top adds a very sweet tone and this guitar is a cannon!!! The neck feels great to play. There is no buzzing anywhere and this plays fast. This is a great sounding and playing guitar.
