1957 Gibson RB100 5 string Banjo

This is a gorgeous 1957 RB100 that has a full size 20 hole tone ring and a 5/8 inch shell. This has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta.

Description

This is a really cool 1957 RB100 that has been turned into a stellar player’s banjo while still maintaining a it’s basic originality.

These originally came with a rolled brass tone hoop and someone changed that out to a full size 20 hole tone ring. It appears that someone also added some sort of custom logo to the face of the headstock on the neck. Normally the Gibson logo is yellow and this is different but more attractive. The neck has cam D Tuners which I am not certain are factory but I think they may be. The neck and resonator are both maple with white binding and the fretboard is rosewood with dots. This has a one piece flange which is a really nice plus and the shell is 5/8 inches which is very good. This is a fantastic vintage Gibson Banjo that will produce serious tone and volume. This includes a nice hardshell case as well.

Condition

This is also in fantastic shape. The finish looks fantastic. All of the hardware is really clean as well. The frets and fretboard are clean with spikes at the 7th, 9th and 10th frets. This is a gorgeous instrument and the case is in great shape as well.

Set Up

This has been set up at the Banjo Warehouse. This has a new Huber frosted head which is set to 90. The bridge is a Dotson Bridge and is intonated. The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and the banjo plays great and sounds incredible. This is a top quality instrument with a top quality set up.
