Description

This is about as rare and special of a banjo that you can get. This was made in the 1960’s by Vega and only around 10-12 of these exist. This particular banjo is basically mint. I will not use the word mint specifically to describe anything but this is at least excellent plus if not near mint. This is an extraordinary find and someone is going to be beyond thrilled to find this and own this. This is not only in beyond exceptional condition this is all original and includes a very clean original hardshell case.

This has a curly maple neck and resonator each with white binding. The fretboard is ebony with some really attractive inlays. The hardware is nickel and all original and in great shape. This banjo is all original all the way, super clean and sounds fantastic. This is also extremely rare. Includes Original and Clean Hardshell Case.

Condition and Set Up

This banjo is in extraordinary condition, from head to toe, with an extremely clean hardshell case. I want to mention first that the frets are in perfect shape with zero playwear anywhere. There also are no spikes or 5th string tuner and never was. This is a museum quality piece that is beyond exceptional considering only 10-12 exist. This is a time capsule collector’s dream find.

All the finish is perfect or at least near perfect. The hardware has some minor and light tarnish which could be very easily cleaned. I chose not to because this is so special and rare and also vintage and many people would prefer I leave it alone. The fretboard is also perfect. The case is perfect. This banjo is perfect.

This is set up with a 5 star frosted head which I believe is original. I also believe this bridge is original but I’m not sure about that. It is an old bridge for sure but really clean. This has new Huber strings and plays and sounds fantastic. This is a beyond heavenly banjo in every way. I would encourage you to not wait long on this if you are interested because this will sell soon, is priced under market and will be very difficult to find another one.
