1970’s Fender Leo Deluxe 5 string Banjo

This is a gorgeous and all original Vintage Fender Leo Deluxe 5 string Banjo. This has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta.

Description

The 1970’s was a time that Japanese instrument production was superb. The Japanese were making musical instruments that were better than instruments made in America at the same time. This is a fantastic example of that very thing.

This has a maple shell with a curly maple neck and resonator. The hardware is nickel. This is all original except for the tailpiece which would be an upgrade and an added 5th string capo. The fretboard is rosewood and this has some nice inlay work in the board. There is white binding on each side of the neck and resonator. This has a 2 piece flange and a nickel plated 20 hole tone ring. The fact this has a full size tone ring causes this to have some exceptional tone and volume. This is a killer banjo and also includes a vintage strap and the original Fender hardshell case.

Condition

This is in gorgeous condition. We professionally clean every banjo that comes through here. This has been disassembled and the metal has been buffed and the wood has been waxed. The fretboard has been cleaned and oiled. This really shines. The hardware looks new and all of the wood and finish are in great shape. The neck and fretboard are in good shape with some sort of light scratching in the fretboard which can be seen in the pictures. The first few frets do have some wear but that does no effect function. This is a fantastic looking banjo that plays and sounds great. The case is also in good shape.

Set Up

This has been professionally set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta. This has a new Remo frosted head which is set to 90 on a drum dial. The bridge has been set to correct intonation. The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings. The action is set nicely and this is fully adjustable.
