This is a 1970’s Gibson RB100 that is all original except for all new tuning keys.  The banjo has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta.

Description

This Gibson RB100 is all original and since it was made in the 70’s does have a vintage vibe. This is a great looking banjo that also feels great to play.

This has a walnut neck and resonator with a rosewood fretboard.  The fretboard has dot position markers.  The hardware is all original and is Chrome.  This has a one piece flange which is definitely a nice touch.  There is white binding on the back of the resonator and black binding on each side of the fretboard.  The tuners are original tuners with Gibson engraved on the back.  This has a brass tone hoop which keeps the banjo light while still giving it some sound.

This is definitely a good quality instrument that has been professionally cleaned and set up.  This looks great and sounds great and also feels great to play.  The banjo also includes a nice hardshell case that was made by the same company that later made the Gibson cases.

Condition

This has been professionally cleaned at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.  We disassembled the banjo and buffed all of the hardware and now it has a really nice glow.  All of the wood has been waxed and the fretboard has been cleaned and oiled.  This was in good shape on the way in and there is very little evidence of any actual use.  The first few frets do have some really light wear but the rest look new.  This banjo is in great shape with little evidence of use and it’s been professionally cleaned so it looks basically new!  The case is in good shape inside and out also with little sign of use.

Set Up

This has been professionally set up at the Banjo Warehouse as well.  This has a new Huber frosted head by Remo which is set to 90 on a drum dial.  The bridge is a Sosebee bridge and this is set with correct intonation.  The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and the action is set nicely.  This also is adjustable.

This banjo is a solid American Made Banjo that has been gone through by professionals and now is at its peak.  It is hard to find a better banjo for the price.  If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask.
