This is a gorgeous 1970’s Hohner 5 string flathead banjo that was made in Japan. This has been fully inspected and set up here at the Banjo Warehouse.

Description

This is a super cool and very nice vintage Hohner Banjo that was made in Japan. These old Japanese banjos are extraordinary and are really becoming hot items.

This has a mahogany resonator with nickel hardware. The neck is also mahogany with a rosewood fretboard. The fretboard has the classic Vega style inlay which is a really nice touch. There is white binding on each side of the neck and resonator. This has a one piece armrest and the original tailpiece. This is all original. Plus this has a full size tone ring which makes a really big difference. This is a professional quality instrument that will absolutely turn heads.

The fact this is a complete flathead with a full size ring and the fact that it is vintage causes this to really have a special life to it. This looks really good and sounds incredible. This is all original with an original case.

Condition

This is definitely in really good shape. The finish and the wood are clean and have a nice shine. The hardware is also clean and has a nice glow. The neck and fretboard are clean as well with clean frets. The frets show a hint of wear on the first few but not much at all. This is absolutely a clean banjo and also has an original case that is in really good shape.

Set Up

This has been professionally set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia. This has a new Huber frosted head by Remo which has been set to 90 on a drum dial. The banjo has correct intonation. The action is set nicely and is adjustable. This plays great and produces some very nice sound. This is a very cool classic instrument that looks great, is clean, all original and set up to be a phenomenal banjo.
