This is a gorgeous 1970’s Ibanez Artist Banjo with a Vine inlay on the fretboard. This has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.

Description

The Ibanez Artist series was the top of the line for Ibanez Japan in the 1970’s. The Artist series is highly collectable today and includes some of the finest guitars and banjos built by Ibanez. This is a gorgeous Artist that has a Vine inlay going down the fretboard.

This has a maple neck and resonator with Chrome Hardware. The banjo is all original. There is a rosewood fretboard with a gorgeous vine inlay on the board. There is RB800 style binding on each side of the neck and resonator along with white binding. This looks really classy. The tailpiece is a clam shell tailpiece and this has geared tuners. The headstock also has gorgeous inlay work and the neck block is inlaid with ARTIST. This has a full size 20 hole tone ring which sounds fantastic. The flange is a 2 piece flange.

This is definitely a high quality instrument that plays and sounds wonderful. This also is a very attractive banjo and was made during a very good period for Japanese instrument production. This includes the original hardshell case.

Condition

This is definitely also in fantastic condition. We professionally cleaned this banjo here at the Banjo Warehouse. We disassembled the banjo and buffed the hardware with a high powered buffer. The wood has been waxed and the fretboard cleaned and oiled. This already was clean on the way in but this basically looks. new now. The frets are in really good shape with just a bit of wear on the first few frets. This is clean all over. There is a 5th string capo installed. Not only is the banjo clean but the original hardshell case is very clean as well. This is definitely in absolutely gorgeous condition.

Set Up

We professionally set this up at the Banjo Warehouse as well. This has a new Remo frosted head which is set to 90 on a drum dial. The bridge is a new Huber bridge and the banjo has correct intonation. The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and the action is set nicely. This also is adjustable. The banjo is definitely high quality and has been cleaned and set up to look, play and sound its best.
