Description

This is a solid banjo that was made in the 1970’s by Martin Guitars here and sold under the Vega Brand name. This is a flathead with a unique design that captures a solid tone for a bluegrass player. This is simply a cool piece of vintage banjo history that is a decent instrument as well. Plus it was made in America.

This has a mahogany neck and resonator with an ebony fretboard. The inlay is super cool Vega inlay which is a nice touch. This has rosewood on the headstock and more inlay. The back of the headstock shows the Martin and Co. logo.

This banjo has the old style 5th string tuner so if someone bought this it could be wise to get a geared 5th string tuner. The original 5th string tuner does work but these friction pegs just aren’t the best for holding tune. The banjo also has a 5th string capo.

This is in fantastic shape and set up with a Pre Epa Remo plastic head and new Huber strings.

The original case stinks. It should be cleaned or replaced. But it is sturdy and the original case so we are including it.

This is a super cool piece of banjo history and this is a solid banjo for a player.. Check it out.
