1976 Music Man Stingray Radio Knob
This is an exceptional bass and all 1976 Stingray basses are exceptional but this also weighs only 8 pounds and 14 ounces which is rare and absolutely makes this sound better. This is about as full of a bass sound as exists and this is just oozing with vintage tone and a funk mojo that cuts while is smooth. This has the deep pickup cavity with long pole pickups and the poles on 1976 Stingray basses are noticeably bigger than even 1977 Stingray basses, at least longer. This also has an epoxy preamp with a string through body and all 1976 pots. The bass dates to September of 1976 and the dates are penciled as well. This indicates that it was before production began.
If you look at the pictures there is a closeup of the back which shows spots left from a circular and rectangular sticker because of light wear. The stickers are gone but there is a light impression that is visible up close. This is also on the back of the bass so nobody ever sees it but what is to see is not major at all. The bass has some other wear which is pictured but this is absolutely a clean Radio Knob bass. Even the original frets are still in great shape.
The original case has worn out on the ends and there is some duct tape but the case is absolutely sturdy and in very good shape for storage and transport. It also is a blonde case which is rare.
