1977 Music Man Stingray Bass Inca Silver Refin

This is a 1977 Stingray Bass with an incredible Inca Silver refinish.  The bass has been inspected and set up by the Stingray Man at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta.

Description

This is a 1977 Music Man Stingray with all Pre Ernie Ball parts other then a new brass nut and a possible Inca Silver refin.  The finish is so accurate to the original I’m not certain this is a refin but the neck is really worn and the finish looks incredible.  There also is clearly a coat of black finish under the silver and in 1977 it was common for Inca finish to go on top of black bodies.  I’m saying it’s a refin but this could be original.

The body is November 13 1977 and the neck is January 21 1978.  The body has a Thunder Pocket which is a routed area under the pickups which definitely helps tone.  The pickups are 1977 and all of the electronics are pre ernie ball.  The preamp is a 1979 preamp but it is Pre Ernie Ball.  This is an absolutely beautiful bass that is also lightweight at 9 pounds 11 ounces.  This also includes a nice Molded Hardshell Case.

This is the bass to get for the Inca Silver lover who wants a solid and gorgeous Pre Ernie Ball Stingray.  I have seen 1977 Original Inca basses bring insane prices.

Condition

This is in gorgeous shape.  The neck has patinad and some of the finish has worn off the front and the back.  The finish on the body looks incredible.  The hardware is in good shape.  The pickguard has two holes from a thumb rest but those holes do not go into the body.  The pickguard was originally on a different bass.  The frets are in good shape and all of the electronics are clean and working.  This is definitely a beautiful instrument and the case is in great shape as well.

This has been set up by the Stingray Man with a new set of GHS strings.  The bass is ready to go and is going to thrill someone out there.
