1977 Music Man Stingray Bass Sunburst

This is an all original 1977 Stingray Bass with John Holmes Long Pole Pickups.  This has been inspected and set up by the Stingray Man at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta.

Description

This is a gorgeous and well worn 1977 Music Man Stingray Bass that is all original and set up for peak performance.

The bass weighs 10 pounds even and the body has a sunburst finish.  The neck is a one piece maple and I’m pretty sure this has been refretted.  This has all original chrome hardware including a string through body bridge.  The electronics all work and are all original including a set of John Holmes Long Pole Pickups and an epoxy preamp.  This is definitely a worn bass and I call instruments like this Organic Relics.  This has been made to look aged naturally, because it has been aged!!  This also comes with a nice hardshell case.

Condition

This is definitely worn but has no structural issues.  The finish has lots of wear including some very large spots of buckle rash on the back of the body.  The chrome shows a lot of tarnish on the bridge.  The neck has a coat of patina so it has yellowed.  There is absolutely no structural issues with the bass but it is definitely worn.

This is strung with new Ernie Ball strings and has been set up as a fantastic player by the Stingray Man.  The case has some light wear on the outside but is still in great shape.  This is a fantastic example of an early Pre Ernie Ball Stingray Bass that is ready to rock and roll’!!
