1977 Stelling Staghorn 5 string Banjo
Rare early 1977 Stelling Staghorn. This DOES NOT HAVE EBONALL. The neck has ebony which is a plus because the early Stelling Banjos had a material called ebonall on the fretboard which this does not have. The neck was built later on by Geoff Stelling so it is an original Staghorn neck but not made in 1977. The banjo is walnut with nickel hardware. There is gorgeous abalone hardware on the neck and resonator. The neck and resonator also have white binding. The fretboard has gorgeous staghorn inlay and the headstock also is inlaid. This is a Stelling Staghorn that is clean and gorgeous. This also includes an original Stelling Case and an original Stelling leather strap.
Condition
The banjo is in fantastic shape. The wood and finish are clean and the hardware looks fantastic. The neck is straight. The fretboard is clean and there are spikes at the 7th 9th and 10th frets. The frets are also clean. The banjo is absolutely gorgeous and it is set up and plays great. The banjo is loud also and has that Staghorn tone. The case is clean and the strap is as well. This is a clean fantastic sounding and playing banjo. Set up here at the Banjo Warehouse.
