This is a fantastic example of a Music Man Stingray Bass. All original with an epoxy preamp and string through body plus an original case. And it’s clean. This has been fully inspected and set up by the Stingray Man here at the Banjo Warehouse.

Description
This is a gorgeous and light weight 1978 Sunburst Music Man Stingray Bass. The bass weighs 9 pounds and 7 ounces which is very nice. This also has an epoxy preamp and a string through body. The bass really looks gorgeous. The finish and hardware all look fantastic. This isn’t a mint condition instrument at all but the wear is minor and this really shines. There is a very special feature on this and that is the body has what I call a thunder pocket under the pickup. This is a cavity that has been routed out with 2 routed channels under the pickup. This creates a different and what I believe to be a better sound than basses that do not have this thunder pocket. The pickups also have raised A and D poles which was found on the earlier Stingray Basses. The pots all date to 1978. The year has faded off of the neck and body stamps but the months are still there. This is a gorgeous and clean example of a vintage Stingray Bass that feels like a dream to play. The light weight body does produce a better sound than a heavy body which this bass has. This also includes an original hardshell case.
Condition
This bass is gorgeous. There is some buckle rash on the back and some scratching in the finish. However the finish really shines and most of it is not worn. The neck also looks incredible. The frets are overall clean with only light wear. The hardware all looks fantastic and is clean and really glows. The original case is also in fantastic condition but the handle has some sort of leather wrapped on it maybe just to make it easier to hold onto.
