1979 Inca Silver Music Man Stingray Bass
This is a gorgeous Inca Silver Stingray Bass from 1979 that has the complete collector package. This has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.

Description
The Inca Silver Stingray is absolutely the most rare and most desirable finish for the Pre Ernie Ball Basses. This was a custom color and from the records some collectors have it appears that less than 200 of these exist. To make matters worse the Silver Finish tends to green over time. This bass has slightly begun to have this happen but not much at all. This is still very silver and is absolutely gorgeous. Plus this includes an original bullet case, original cloth (in packaging), original strap (in packaging) and original warranty with an original leather case pouch. This also is all original except for a replaced volume pot.
This has an ash body with a one piece maple neck. This has an original Stingray Humbucker and preamp. The electronics are all original except for a new volume pot and this has a 3 band eq. The bridge is a string through body bridge where the strings go through the body. This creates more resonance with the bass and a lot of players will only play string through body basses for this reason. They tend to be more present with a lot more tone. All of the finish and frets are original and all of the hardware is as well.
This is very very silver compared to most Inca Silver basses at this point but there is a light amount of green in the finish. It is so light that the bass still absolutely is a silver instrument. Almost all of the Inca Silver Stingrays have this in the finish and this is a beautiful example of a Silver Stingray. The fact this also has all of this case candy with the bullet case takes it over the top.
Right now Vintage Stingray Basses are blowing up with collectability. Cliff Williams of AC/DC is releasing a signature edition Stingray Bass which is made like a late 1970’s Stingray Bass. In addition Stingray Basses have gotten nearly impossible to find, especially the Inca Silver basses.
Condition
This is overall a 9, this is definitely a clean example. There are some light marks on the bass, nothing major at all. I did get a couple closeups of a couple of small dings. The hardware looks incredible, that is nearly perfect. The neck is in phenomenal shape and the frets are also in great shape. There is some wear on the first several frets but nothing that creates a functional issue. All of the electronics are clean and working. This also sounds incredible. The bullet case also has a light amount of wear but also overall looks really good. This is not only a rare and special bass this is in gorgeous condition.
