1979 Music Man Stingray Bass Inca Silver Finish

This is a very rare 1979 Stingray Bass with an original and rare Inca Silver Finish. This has been inspected and set up by the Stingray Man at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta.

Description

This is a very rare Inca Silver Stingray that is all original from 1979. This is the original finish and the finish looks incredible. There are less than 200 Inca Silver Stingray from the Pre Ernie Ball era and most have turned yellow or green. This silver is still vibrant and has very little green in the finish. This bass looks phenomenal and Incas like this almost never come up for sale.

This has a one piece maple neck with original finish, nut and the original frets and decal. The electronics are all original as well. The preamp had a problem and I had to have a new part put on the preamp and I have a close up so you can see it. The part is a black cylinder. The bass sounds incredible.

There is no date in the body and the neck is dated December 1979. The bass weighs 10 pounds and 2 ounces which is huge. These can get up to 12 pounds and a 10 pound or less Stingray is ideal. 10 pounds and 2 ounces is light for a Vintage Stingray. This also includes the original blonde hardshell case which is super rare as well.

This is a very special bass that has the tone and feel but also the look. The Inca Silver Stingray is the most desirable color and this bass is also original and clean.

Condition

This bass is in fantastic shape along with still maintaining it’s original Silver. The finish is in really good shape with some light dimples and nicks but not much at all that goes through the finish. The neck is in great shape and the frets are in great shape also. The first few frets have a bit of wear but this wasn’t played much. The electronics all work and are clean and this is sounding and playing incredible.

The case is in good shape with some wear on the outside and one broken latch. I have set up 100’s of Stingrays and have this one set up to feel incredible in every way. This is another very special bass that does not come up for sale basically ever.
