1979 Music Man Stingray Bass Olympic White

This is a 1979 Music Man Stingray with a Rare Olympic White Finish and an Epoxy Preamp.  This has been inspected and set up by the Stingray Man at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.

Description

This is an all original 1979 Stingray Bass with a very rare Olympic White Finish.  The Finish also has not yellowed too badly which is really nice.  The bass has an epoxy preamp as well which is a major plus.  The epoxy preamp is regarded as superior to those that do not have epoxy and it does produce a very nice tone.  This is a wonderful example of a Pre Ernie Ball Stingray Bass.

The neck is a one piece maple neck and this has original frets, finish and an original decal.  The pickups are not Long Pole pickups but the poles are also not perfectly flush with the pickup.  These electronics rock and this has all original pots as well.  The body is dated April 1979 and there is no date on the neck.  The bass weighs 9 pounds and 10 ounces which is very nice.  This also has a very clean original hardshell case.

Olympic White is not as popular as Inca Silver but it seems to be almost as rare.  These never come up and so often when they do you would think the bass is actually yellow.  This has yellowed a bit but not too bad, this is all original, clean, lightweight and gorgeous.

Condition

The bass is in really good shape, this is easily a 9/10 or better.  The finish shows very little wear at all.  There are a couple of small nicks and scratches but not much.  The neck also shows almost no wear and the frets look nearly untouched.  All of the electronics are working and clean and this sounds incredible.  This bass is set up with low action and it feels incredible to play as well.  I also took the bass apart and buffed all of the metal to a shine and waxed the finish to a glow.  This bass is incredible and the original case is also in fantastic condition.
