Description

This is a nearly all original (new jack) 1980 Sabre Bass in a very rare Olympic White Finish. Not only were there fewer Sabre Basses made than Stingray Basses the Olympic White Finish is rare on any Pre Ernie Ball Music Man, regardless the model. This is a very special bass that also has a clean original hardshell case.

This has an Olympic White finish with a one piece maple neck. The pickups are both original and the electronics are all original other then the jack. The Sabre electronics are far superior from a technological point of view then a Stingray. There are various switches that change pickup position, which includes running both pickups for a much more full sound then only one. You also can cut and boost the tone on top of the standard 2 band eq. These are killer basses absolutely that are not easy to find and especially with the rare Olympic White finish. Includes a very clean original hardshell case. The bass weighs 10 pounds 3.8 ounces.

Condition

This bass is in excellent condition for sure. I will mention there is a lot of checking in the finish but it’s not big checks, they are thin. I have closeups of this. In addition the finish has somewhat yellowed particularly on the back. The metal is in really good shape and the bass is set up really well.

All of the electronics are working and clean as well. This bass not only is a great player it sounds incredible as well. This is nearly the ultimate Sabre Bass that looks great, plays great and sounds incredible!!!
