Description

The Stelling Masterpiece was exactly that, a Masterpiece.  This was the top of the Stelling line and not many were made, I believe less then 100.  If you know the correct number of Masterpieces please let me know but I know it’s not many.  This is a true work of art and has every bit of Stelling functional quality that any of his other banjos would deliver.  This is heaven.

This has a gorgeous curly maple neck and resonator with concentric rings on the resonator and some beautiful finish work on the neck.  The fretboard is ebony and features a Sunflower inlay pattern, or at least a pattern very similar to the Sunflower.  There also is binding on each side of the neck and resonator and inlay all the way up to the headstock.

The hardware is gold and engraved and is also all original.  This includes a Stelling No Hole Tone Ring and a Stelling One Piece Ribbon flange.  This banjo is absolutely stunning in every way.  This also has an original hardshell case.

Condition and Set Up

This is in stunning condition.  The only wear is on the armrest and a bit on the tailpiece, some of the gold has been worn on each.  Outside of that this is nearly mint.

The gold is generally glowing and we took this banjo apart and cleaned everything.  The finish looks fantastic and has been waxed for a shine.  The frets and fretboard are nearly perfect and there are spikes at 7,8,9 and 10.

This has a new Remo frosted head, a Sosebee bridge and new Huber strings.  This banjo is off the charts to begin with but has also been set up and cleaned up to achieve maximum performance.  This is a very special banjo and someone is going to be in love once they get their hands on this.
