Description

This is an RB250 that was made sometime in the 1970’s. This is a powerful banjo with a lot of pop and bang and strong volume. This is also all original and very clean.

This has the thick original Gibson Rim with a mahogany neck and resonator. The fretboard is ebony with a leaves and bows inlay. The hardware is nickel and all original including a Gibson Tone ring and a Gibson 2 piece flange. This also has the original Gibson clam shell tailpiece and a one piece armrest.

The original case and hang tag are also included. This is a very clean and all original example of a 1970’s RB250 Banjo.

Condition

The banjo is essentially in perfect condition. There is a very small spot of very light surface cracking on the inside of the rim by the tailpiece side of the coordinator rods. This is only in the top layer of the veneer. This is exceptionally minor and is also pictured. Other then that, which again is insignificant at best, this banjo is nearly perfect.

The finish on the neck and resonator are in fantastic shape. The fretboard and frets are also super clean with spikes at frets 7, 8 and 9. The frets are nearly perfect. All of the hardware looks fantastic as well. The original case is in fantastic condition as is the original tag.

Set Up

The head is a new Remo frosted head set to 90. The bridge is a Snuffy Smith and the strings are Huber Truetone. This is properly set up and this has serious bang that is balanced with sweet tone. This banjo is set up and ready to go waiting for you to bring all of it’s power to life!!
