This is a vintage Deering Deluxe that is left handed.  This has been inspected and set up here at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.

Description

This is a really cool and rare Left Handed Deering Deluxe from the late 1980’s.  Left Handed Banjos generally are rare and it’s nice to have one made by a manufacturer like Deering.

This has a maple shell with a maple neck and resonator.  The hardware is nickel and this is all original except for a set of D tuners.  The fretboard is rosewood and has a snowflake inlay pattern.  There is black binding on each side of the neck and white binding on each side of the resonator.  This has a one piece armrest and a Presto taillpiece.  The tone ring is a no hole nickel plated tone ring which gives this a lot of attack and some major tone.  The banjo has Shaller D Tuners which are in great shape and are an upgrade.  This is a fantastic banjo for a lefty that feels great to play and sounds incredible.  This also has the original hardshell case.

Condition

The banjo looks great.  This has clean finish and wood and hardware that is glowing.  We take every banjo completely apart and buff the metal, wax the wood and oil the fretboard.  This was not only in good shape previously this has now been professionally cleaned.  The neck and fretboard are also in great shape with frets that show little wear.  There is a hint of wear on the first few frets but that is it.  The banjo doesn’t have spikes or a 5th string capo but we can add that if you want.  This is a very good sign because any serious banjo player would have to have a capo or spikes.  This clearly wasn’t played much.  The case is also clean.

Set Up

Not only do we professionally clean all of these banjos this has been professionally set up as well.  This has a new Huber frosted head by Remo which is set to 90 on a drum dial.  The bridge has no name but has correct intonation.  The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and the action feels great.  This plays like butter and has some killer tone.  This is absolutely a great chance for a lefty to get a quality banjo that is in great shape and set up to play great.
