This is the first Flying Eagle Gibson RB3 that was made during the Rich era. This is a rare and early banjo that really is a special one. The banjo is all original and also include an original Gibson Hardshell Case.

Description

1988 Gibson RB3 5 string Banjo. This is a Mahogany banjo with a 3 ply Hard Rock Maple shell. The banjo has nickel hardware. This also has a mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard. The fretboard has a Flying Eagle inlay pattern. This is also known as a Reno Inlay pattern. This happens to be the first Flying Eagle RB3 that was made during the Greg Rich era. The banjo has white binding on each side of the neck and resonator. The tailpiece is a Presto Tailpiece and this has a one piece armrest.

This is a very special banjo and is very earl, very attractive and sounds phenomenal. This really has that classic bluegrass pop and twang. The banjo also includes an original Gibson Hardshell Case.

Condition

This banjo is also in superb condition. The original finish looks incredible. The hardware is also clean, it really pops!! The neck is clean and in good shape as is the fretboard. The frets are nearly perfect!!! The banjo has spikes in the 7th and 9th frets. The original case is also very clean.

Set Up

All of our banjos are set up here at the Banjo Warehouse. This has comfortable action with a lot of tone. This definitely a rich banjo that sounds incredible while playing great!! The banjo has proper intonation as well. The head is a new Huber Head and this has a Ward bridge. The banjo has new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings. The head is also set to 90 on a drum dial all the way around the head.
