1988 Gibson Greg Rich Era Earl Scruggs Standard 5 string banjo with the original Gibson hardshell case. This has been fully inspected and set up here at the Banjo Warehouse and includes our Full Satisfaction Guarantee.
This is a replica of the Granada that Earl Scruggs played for years. This is a maple banjo with an ebony fretboard and this originally came with nickel hardware. This particular banjo later had the hardware on the pot chromed so this now has chrome hardware. I want to clarify that the hardware is original it just now has chrome on it.
The banjo looks fantastic with the chrome and everything else on the banjo is original. This is a smoking opportunity to get your hands on a Rich Era Earl Scruggs Standard because it does have all of the original parts but the chrome does lead to a better price!!! The banjo is in great shape all the way around so this is a great looking, sounding and now that it is also professionally set up this is a great playing instrument as well.
The frets do show some wear on the first few frets which is so common for banjos but the rest of the frets are fat and meaty and have a whole lot of life in them. This has no functional issues whatsoever. There are spikes at the 7th and 9th frets.
This banjo was made right when Greg Rich was bringing the Gibson banjos back to life and this has that Rich era spirit. The banjo is set up and this also includes our Full Satisfaction Guarantee. This also has an original Gibson hardshell case.
If you have any questions at all please ask. Thanks!!!
