DESCRIPTION
This is a mahogany pot with nickel hardware. The banjo is all original except for a new neck by Frank Neat. The neck is mahogany with a rosewood fretboard. The fretboard has a leaves and bows inlay. This is a striking banjo that has an all original pot. The neck is not original but was made by one of the best neck makers in history.
Condition
This banjo is definitely in great shape. The finish on the resonator isn’t scratched or checked over. In fact it really looks great. The hardware is shiny and is very attractive. The neck is a newer neck and is also in great shape. Even the frets are clean, fat and round all the way down. The fretboard is clean with spikes at the 7th-9th frets. This is a clean banjo in excellent condition.
Sound and Playability
This has the classic bluegrass cut. The tone is going to cut through the jam and this is also a loud banjo. RB3 banjos are well known for their classic bluegrass sound. This has that tone. The banjo has low action with no buzz. This banjo not only sounds great it is a great player as well.
