Description

Geoff Stelling is regarded as having made some of the finest banjos in the history of Banjo Production. He has recently retired which means that not only will there be no more Stelling Banjos, those that exist have gotten hard to find and very desirable. This is a really good example of a Deluxe Sunflower Banjo which delivers the tone, beauty and playing experience that so many have grown to love.

This has a curly maple neck and resonator with an ebony fretboard that has a gorgeous Sunflower Abalone Inlay Pattern. The hardware is gold, engraved and all original. This includes a one piece Stelling Ribbon Flange and a Stelling No Hole Tone Ring. This is a beautiful and deluxe example of a Stelling Banjo that produces that loud pop and bang Stelling Banjos are associated with. The One Piece Flange and No Hole Ring are critical.

This includes the original Stelling Hardshell Case.

Condition and Set Up

This banjo is absolutely gorgeous and has been professionally cleaned at the Banjo Warehouse. The hardware has been disassembled and polished and has a really nice shine.

The finish is in great shape and has been waxed to a shine. There are some small dings but not many, this is a clean banjo overall for sure. The frets and fretboard are basically perfect and there are spikes at frets 7, 9 and 10.

The case has some minor wear on the outside but is nearly perfect. This is a good original case inside and out.

This is set up with a new Remo frosted head which is set to 90. The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and this banjo is a stellar player. This has a lot of bang, volume and pop and is set up to play like butter.
