Description

This is a mahogany banjo with nickel hardware. This banjo has a mahogany neck and a rosewood fretboard. The fretboard has a leaves and bows inlay pattern. This is all original except for tuning keys and the truss rod cover. This has a one piece armrest and a Presto Tailpiece. There are spikes at the 7th,9th and 10th frets. This is a fantastic example of a Rich era RB3 with an original hardshell case.

Condition

The banjo is in really good condition. The finish is definitely clean. There is some light checking on the back of the resonator but it is light. The neck and fretboard are both clean. The hardware looks fantastic and is super clean. The frets are definitely clean all the way up and down the board. The banjo is in great shape with a hardshell case that is also in good shape. There is a bit of wear on the outside of the case but nothing serious. The inside of the case is clean. There is a satin cover on the inside of the case that has been cut out but the rest of the lining is in great shape.

Set Up

This has been fully inspected and set up here at the shop. The banjo has comfortable action that produces a lot of tone and volume. The banjo has proper intonation. The head has been set to 90 on a drum dial all the way around the head. This has a clean Remo Frosted Head. The bridge is a Gary Sosebee bridge with an ebony cap. The banjo is strung with new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings.
