This is a gorgeous and all original Scruggs Standard made a few months after Greg Rich left Gibson.  This has been fully inspected and set up here at the Banjo Warehouse and is a truly exceptional banjo.

 Description

The Scruggs Standard is a copy of the Granada played by Earl Scruggs for many years.  This has a gorgeous curly maple resonator and curly maple neck.  The fretboard is ebony with a Hearts and Flowers inlay pattern.  The hardware is nickel.  This has an original Kulesh tone ring with the Gibson USA stamp.  This is all original and also happens to have the original Gibson D tuners.  There is also some inlay work on the headstock.  There is w/b/w binding around the sides of the neck and resonator.  Even the head is an original Remo head. This banjo is absolutely gorgeous and is a wonderful example of a Scruggs Standard Banjo.  This also includes the Original Case, case key and Gibson Manual.

Condition

The banjo is absolutely gorgeous.  The finish looks fantastic on the entire banjo.  There is some wrinkling in the finish on the resonator which is extremely common from Gibson Banjos of this period.  This is actually a good thing because it proves the finish is original.  The neck finish is clean and the fretboard is clean as well. The frets are in fantastic condition showing almost no wear.  The hardware is also super clean.  This is a banjo that was well taken care of and is in great shape with zero functional issues.  The original case is also clean.

Set Up

This has been set up here at the Banjo Warehouse.  The banjo has a clean ORIGINAL Remo head which is set to 90 on a drum dial.  This has nice string height with correct intonation.  The banjo has a Snuffy Smith bridge with an ebony cap and new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings.  This is not only all original and clean this is professionally set up and plays incredibly well and sounds even better.
