This is a gorgeous and all original Gibson RB3 that has an original case and original tags. This has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta.

Description

This is an RB3 that was made about 5 months after Greg Rich left Gibson. This also is all original and includes an original case and the original hang tags.

This has a 3 ply hard rock maple shell with a mahogany neck and resonator. The fretboard is rosewood and has a leaves and bows inlay pattern. The hardware is nickel and all original and includes a Gibson USA one piece flange and a Gibson USA Kulesh Tone Ring. There is white binding on each side of the neck and resonator.

The RB3 is a reissue of the Pre War Gibson RB3 and this is a fantastic example of an RB3. The fact this was made in 1993 right after Greg Rich left Gibson is also significant and this is the complete package as well.

Condition

This is definitely in great shape and was professionally cleaned at the Banjo Warehouse. We disassembled the banjo and buffed the hardware to a nice shine and also shined the finish. There is some checking in the finish on the resonator and some light button scratching but all of that is almost invisible. The neck and fretboard are in good shape but the first few fret spaces on the fretboard do have some wear from fretting. This is pictured. The frets have been leveled so they don’t show much wear at all and there are spikes at the 7th, 9th and 12th frets. This is in great shape and the case is in good shape and structurally sound with only light wear.

Set Up

This has been professionally set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta. This has a new Huber frosted head by Remo which is set to 90 on a drum dial. The bridge is a new Dotson bridge and is set with correct intonation. The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and the banjo plays great!! This also is fully adjustable with 2 coordinator rods and a truss rod.

This banjo has the classic banjo twang that so many love and is such a wonderful example of an RB3. This also is complete with the original case and hang tags.
