1994 Gibson Granada 5 string Banjo

This is an all original Granada that was made right after the Greg Rich era.  This banjo plays like pure butter and sounds like angels singing.  This has been inspected and set up here at the Banjo Warehouse.

Description

This is an example of one of the most popular bluegrass banjos ever played.  The banjo is a curly maple banjo with gold hardware.  This has a 3 ply hard rock maple shell.  The gold hardware is engraved with a traditional Granada engraving pattern.  The neck is also curly maple with a rosewood fretboard.  The fretboard has a Flying Eagle inlay pattern.  There is white binding with black pinstripes on each side of the neck and fretboard.  This is all original with the exception of a replated armrest.  The armrest itself is original but has been replated with fresh gold.  This is absolutely gorgeous and also includes an original hardshell case.

Condition

This banjo is super clean.  The hardware is truly glowing and is clean all the way around.  The wood and finish are also clean.  There are some very light marks on the back of the neck but these are minor.  The frets are clean with just a hint of wear on the first few frets.  There are spikes at the 7th and 0th frets.  The hardshell case is also clean.

Set up

This has been professionally set up at the Banjo Warehouse.  This has great string height or string action.  The banjo has proper intonation.  The head has been set to 90 on a drum dial all the way around the head.  This has a new Huber Frosted Head and new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings.  The bridge is a Scorpion Bridge with an ebony cap.  This looks great, sounds great and plays great.
