Description

The RB3 is a powerful instrument.  The Mahogany and Nickel combination really screams and this is the type of banjo that people cannot ignore when they hear.

This has a mahogany neck and resonator.  The fretboard is rosewood with a leaves and bows inlay pattern.  The hardware is nickel and all original including a Gibson USA Kulesh Tone Ring and a Gibson USA one piece flange.  This banjo likely has parts that were around Gibson during the Greg Rich era.

This is a really clean banjo that also includes a clean original case.  The case has a new handle but still the case is in great shape.

Condition and Set Up

This banjo is in great shape and has been detailed in our shop.  We have disassembled the banjo and buffed and polished all of the metal.  The finish has been waxed as well and really shines.  Even the frets and fretboard are in fantastic shape all the way down the board with spikes at frets 7 and 8.  There were spikes at frets 9 and 10 but someone took them out.

The resonator has a coat of light checking in the finish which is normal for banjos made at this time.  If anything that can serve as evidence that the finish is original because that checking is so common.

This has a new Remo frosted head which is set to 90.  The bridge is a Sosebee bridge and this has new Huber strings.  This truly is a powerful banjo that sounds fantastic.  This also is clean and all original and set up for maximum performance.
