This is a gorgeous 1996 RB3. This was made during a fantastic period of production at Gibson and really has that real Gibson sound. This has been fully inspected and set up here at the Banjo Warehouse.

Description

This is a Mahogany banjo with Nickel hardware and a Hard Rock Maple Shell. The neck is also Mahogany with a Rosewood fretboard. The fretboard has a leaves and bows inlay pattern. This is all original and in really good shape. The banjo has spikes in the 7th and 9th frets. This is a fantastic all original banjo from a good year and also includes a deluxe archtop hardshell case.

Condition

The banjo is definitely in great shape. There is some sort of checking in the finish which is pretty hard to see unless its close. Basically the whole resonator has this light checking. The finish itself looks great and is clean. No rash anywhere. The hardware is also clean. This banjo really has that bluegrass look and was definitely taken care of. The neck is straight with a clean fretboard. The frets are especially clean with almost no wear at all. The tailpiece cover is not staying secure so I have put a piece of velcro underneath to hold it in place. This is pictured and I have more velcro in the case. This could not have been played much. We set this up here and it plays like a dream! This is a loud hard cutting mahogany style 3 bluegrass banjo that will make you smile. The deluxe archtop hardshell case is also clean.

Set Up

This has been set up here at the shop. The banjo has comfortable action that produces wonderful tone and volume. The banjo also has proper intonation. The head is set to 90 on a drum dial all the way around the head. This has a no name frosted head and a no name bridge with an ebony cap. The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings. This is a wonderful player that sounds incredible. This banjo will cut in a jam!!
