This is an all original 1997 Gibson RB250 Banjo.  This has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.

Description

Gibson Banjos have essentially disappeared from the market.  This is a phenomenal example of a high quality player that is all original and has the best parts.

This has a 3 ply hard rock maple shell.  The neck and resonator are mahogany and this has an ebony fretboard.  The fretboard has a Leaves and Bows inlay pattern along with white binding on each side of the neck and resonator.  The hardware is nickel and all original including a Gibson USA one piece flange and a Gibson USA Kulesh Tone Ring.  The armrest is a one piece armrest and the tailpiece is a Presto, both of which are original.  This includes a new Guardian Hardshell Case.

Condition

This is in great shape and has also been professionally cleaned at the Banjo Warehouse.  This has been disassembled and all of the hardware has been buffed with a high powered buffer and now glows.  The wood has also been waxed which brings out a nice shine.  The headstock has some sort of finish wear but the rest of the finish looks incredible.  The frets and fretboard are definitely super clean and the fretboard has been cleaned and oiled.  There are no spikes or 5th string capo but there was once a 5th string capo.  This has left two pin size holes in the side of the neck from the old capo.  This is definitely in good shape with no damage and has been cleaned to a nice shine.  The case is new.

Set Up

This has been set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.  The head is a new Huber frosted head and is set to 90.  The bridge is a Gary Sosebee bridge and is intonated.  The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and this banjo is set up to play great!!!  This is truly a cannon that is a heavy duty player.
