This is a gorgeous Stelling Red Fox that has been upgraded with a set of Keith D Tuners. This has been inspected and set up here at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta.

Description

The Red Fox is probably the best selling model of Stelling Banjo and this is a great example of a Red Fox Banjo.

This has a maple Cooperman Rim. The resonator and neck are flamed maple. This has nickel hardware and an ebony fretboard. The fretboard has some leaves inlaid up the board which really look great. There is also a Red Fox inlaid into the face of the headstock with the Stelling logo. There is w/b/w binding on each side of the neck and fretboard (white with black pinstripe). This is all original with a no hole tone ring, one piece armrest and a Stelling engraved tailpiece. This also has a set of Bill Keith D Tuners which is definitely an upgrade. Those tuners are $250 by themselves. This banjo is absolutely beautiful and has a wonderful tone. This also includes an original Stelling Hardshell Case.

Condition

This was definitely well taken care of and also has been thoroughly cleaned. We take every banjo apart and buff the metal, wax the wood and oil the fretboard along with a new head and strings at least.

The wood and finish look spectacular. This really shines. The hardware also shines, it is clean and has a really nice glow. The neck and fretboard are both really clean with frets that show basically no wear. There are spikes at the 7th-10th frets. This is absolutely gorgeous and very clean and includes a hardshell case that is also clean.

Set Up

This has been professionally set up at the Banjo Warehouse. This has a new Huber frosted head by Remo which is set to 90 on a drum dial. The bridge is a no name bridge but I can say it has correct intonation. The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and the action feels great. This plays like butter while producing some sweet and angelic tone that has great volume. If you are looking for a fantastic Stelling Banjo under $4000 this would be for you!!!!
