Description

This is a copy of a banjo that Earl Scruggs played for a long time.  The banjo is basically a Granada which was modified by the Gibson factory in 1949.  This has a maple resonator and rim with nickel hardware.  The neck is also maple with a rosewood fretboard.  There are bow ties inlaid on the fretboard.  The banjo has white binding on each side of the neck and resonator.  The headstock also has the Gibson logo inlaid with Earl Scruggs on the truss rod cover.  This is in really great shape.  The banjo does have 4 new frets which are the first 4 frets.  The tone ring and the shell have matching serial numbers which is pictured.  The banjo also includes an original Gibson hardshell case.

Condition

The banjo is in beautiful shape but there is some light wear.  There are some very light checks or light surface marks in the resonator on the back of the resonator.  The hardware looks fantastic and is glowing!!  The neck is clean and straight with a clean fretboard.  The frets are clean all the way down and of course the 4 new frets help that.  There are spikes at the 7th-9th frets.  This is a fantastic banjo that has been set up and plays and sounds incredible!!  The original hardshell case is also clean with zero issues.

Set Up

This has been professionally set up here at the Banjo Warehouse.  This has comfortable action and the banjo is loaded with tone!!!  The banjo also has proper intonation.
