This is a wonderful 1998 Gibson JD Crowe RB75 that is all original with an original case.  This has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.

Description

This is a JD Crowe signature edition banjo.  These are top quality and many people will only play these banjos.

This has a 3 ply hard rock maple shell.  The resonator is mahogany with nickel hardware.  The neck is also mahogany and this has a rosewood fretboard.  The fretboard has a Flying Eagle inlay pattern.  There is white binding on each side of the neck and resonator.  This has a one piece armrest and a Presto tailpiece.  The banjo is all original and includes a Crowe tone ring which is the original ring.

These have a lot of power and a lot of bang and really produce the authentic bluegrass sound.  The banjo is all original, clean and has an original and clean hardshell case plus the original warranty paper.  Finally the label on the inside of the banjo has been hand signed by JD Crowe.

Condition

The resonator is in good shape but there are some light button scratches on the back.  That’s pretty much the only wear on the banjo.  The hardware looks really good and is definitely clean.  The neck and fretboard are also clean.  The frets are clean and also show almost no wear.  There is a hint of wear on the first few frets but I am talking minor here.  There are spikes at the 7th and 9th frets and it appears there was once a spike at the 10th fret.  This is a really good looking banjo that has played and has very little actual wear.  The original case is very clean.

Set Up

This has been professionally set up here at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.  This has a new Huber frosted head by Remo which is set to 90 on a drum dial.  The banjo has correct intonation.  The action is set nicely and is adjustable.  This plays great while the strings still pull some serious tone out of the banjo.  Talk about peel the paint off the walls!!!  This is a fantastic model that JD Crowe has endorsed which looks great, plays great and has an unbeatable tone!!!
