Description

The Earl Scruggs Standard is a copy of the banjo that was played by Earl Scruggs for years. This is a Granada that has nickel hardware instead of Gold and an ebony fretboard instead of rosewood. The Earl Scruggs Standard is definitely the best selling Gibson Banjo model and this produces a sound that you can only get out of this model.

This has a 3 ply hard rock maple shell with a flame maple neck and resonator. This has all original hardware including a Gibson USA stamped one piece flange and a Gibson USA stamped Kulesh Tone Ring. The fretboard is ebony with a Hearts and Flowers inlay pattern including an extra inlay on the first fret to match Earl’s banjo. There us w.b.w binding on each side of the neck and resonator and this has a faux Earl Scruggs signature on the truss rod cover. This is all original and comes with a Superior Hardshell Case.

These Scruggs Standard banjos have gotten super popular and we can not keep them in stock. This is a very nice all original example that we have professionally cleaned and set up to maximize its appearance and tone.

Condition

This was clean on the way in but we still professionally cleaned this at the Banjo Warehouse. This has been disassembled and all of the metal has been buffed with a high powered buffer to make it shine. The wood has all been waxed and the fretboard has been cleaned and oiled. The only wear that I can find on this is 2 exposed holes from a 5th string capo that was removed and there is a hint of wear on the first few frets. The rest of the frets look untouched and there are spikes on the 7th and 9th frets. This show basically no wear and has been cleaned to a point that it basically looks new. The Superior Case is clean inside and out.

Set Up

This has been professionally set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta. This has a new Huber frosted head by Remo which is set to 90 on a drum dial. The bridge is a Dotson Bridge which is set to correct intonation. This is strung with new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and the action is set nicely plus is fully adjustable. This banjo is powerful with a beautiful and unique tone and this also is set up to play GREAT!
