2000 Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard 5 string Banjo

This is a gorgeous and all original 2000 Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard with an original case and Kulesh tone ring. This has been inspected and set up here at the Banjo Warehouse in ATL.

Description

This is a copy of the banjo that was played by Earl Scruggs for years. This is a Granada with nickel hardware and an ebony fretboard. The Scruggs Standard is definitely the most popular Gibson Banjo model and this is a fantastic example of one.

This has a curly maple resonator with nickel hardware. The banjo has a 3 ply hard rock maple shell. The neck is also curly maple with an ebony fretboard. The fretboard has a Hearts and Flowers inlay pattern with an extra inlay on the first fret. This is all original and includes a Gibson USA Kulesh Tone Ring. The armrest is a one piece armrest and this has a Presto tailpiece which are both original. There is w/b/w binding on each side of the neck and resonator. The headstock also has the Hearts and Flowers inlay along with the Gibson logo. This is a gorgeous banjo and also includes an original Gibson Hardshell Case.

Condition

This is definitely clean. The finish looks incredible. The hardware is all clean and also looks fantastic. The neck and fretboard are both clean with clean frets. There was once a 5th string capo on the side of the neck and there are two exposed pin size holes from that. They are tiny and effect nothing. This is clean and really attractive and the case is also clean. The lock for the case has been taken off but I have original locks that I can sell if you want one.

Set Up

This has been professionally set up here at the Banjo Warehouse. This has the original Remo frosted head which looks untouched. The banjo has a Dotson Bridge and new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings. The banjo has comfortable action which is adjustable and produces some serious tone. This banjo really sounds great. This also has correct intonation. This is a clean and all original example of the most popular model of Gibson Banjo that has been set up to sound and play like butter.
